Wisdom
From the eyes
and mind of Ben Franklin
There
are lazy minds as well as lazy bodies.
It is never too late to
mend.
Building is an old man’s
amusement. The advantage is for his posterity.
Is not the hope of one day
being able to purchase and enjoy luxuries a great spur to labor and industry?
He that has a trade has an
office of profits and honor.
We make these times better
if we be-stir ourselves.
He that lieth down with
dogs, shall wake up with fleas.
A full belly makes a dull
brain.
Tis very ill driving black
dogs in the dark.
Industry pays debts while
despair increases them.
Eat to live-not live to
eat.
He that is late must trod
all day.
Eat to please yourself,
dress to please others.
I wish every kind of
prosperity to my friends and forgive my enemies.
He that waits upon fortune
is never sure of dinner.
A fine genius, in his own
country, is like a gold mine.
